About Us
For over 55 years we have been one of El Dorado County’s best Family operated “Choose and Cut” Tree Farms. Make your way through our 9 Acre farm with your family and find your perfect tree. When you have found it just yell “Cutter!” and we will be there to cut it for you or show you where you or the kids can cut it down.
Tip #1
Displaying trees in water in a traditional reservoir type stand is the most effective way of maintaining their freshness and minimizing needle loss problems.
Tip #2
Make a fresh cut to remove about a 1/2-inch thick disk of wood from the base of the trunk before putting the tree in the stand. Make the cut perpendicular to the stem axis.
Tip #3
To display the trees indoors, use a stand with an adequate water holding capacity for the tree. As a general rule, stands should provide 1 quart of water per inch of stem diameter. Devices are available that help maintain a constant water level in the stand.
Tip #4
Keep displayed trees away from sources of heat (fireplaces, heaters, heat vents, direct sunlight). Lowering the room temperature will slow the drying process, resulting in less water consumption each day.

Carson Ridge Evergreens Christmas Tree Farm is within easy driving distance from the Bay Area, Sacramento, and South Lake Tahoe. Many families arrive early, choose their tree and continue the adventure by bringing a picnic and visiting nearby apple farms, wineries and breweries along the Apple Hill route. We pride ourselves on being a full-service El Dorado County tree farm. Employees are available to help as much as you want. We provide the trees, saws, packaging and twine plus greenery and candy canes with your tree purchase. All this in the beautiful Apple Hill area of El Dorado County.

Driving directions from Bay Area, Sacramento: Highway 50 east to Placerville. Take Exit 48 Schnell School Rd. Turn left at stop sign. Turn right on Carson Road, 3.7 miles to farm on the left. You can also take the Point View Exit 49, Jacquier Road. Turn left at stop sign, continue on Jacquier Rd. 1 mile to Carson Rd., turn right and continue 2 miles to tree farm on the left.
Driving directions from South Lake Tahoe: Highway 50 west to 2nd Carson Road exit. Turn left on Carson Rd. ¼ mile. Farm is on the right. Watch for the red and green sales building. If you miss the Carson Road exit, go on to Exit 49A, Point View/Jacquier Rd. turn right at stop sign, continue on Jacquier Rd. 1 mile to Carson Rd., turn right and continue to 2 miles to tree farm on the left. Also Exit 48 Schnell School Rd. turn right to Carson Rd., turn right and continue 3.7 miles to tree farm on the left.
